Royal Air Maroc will offer Starlink Wi-Fi on board, a first in Africa.
Royal Air Maroc will equip 41 of its aircraft with the Starlink high-speed connectivity solution. Accessible free of charge to all Safar Flyer loyalty program members, this service represents a major step forward in redesigning the passenger experience. The airline thus becomes the first on the African continent to offer an ultra-fast and uninterrupted connection, made possible by the world’s most powerful satellite constellation. The rollout will begin in early 2027, with a gradual scaling up across the entire fleet to ensure optimal operational continuity. Once the system is installed, Royal Air Maroc passengers will enjoy very high-speed internet access, allowing them to stream content, communicate, work in real-time, and stay connected throughout the flight. This agreement reflects a clear and assertive ambition: to offer our passengers a travel experience that meets the most demanding international standards. By choosing the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky, we are taking a decisive step in transforming our customer experience and reaffirming Royal Air Maroc’s mission to connect Africa, Europe, and the rest of the world with the highest level of excellence. This ambition is part of a multi-year plan that includes fleet renewal, cabin redesigns, and a complete modernization of the customer experience, both on the ground and on board,” emphasizes Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc.
For her part, Lauren Dreyer, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, states: “Royal Air Maroc’s decision to introduce Starlink to its fleet marks an important milestone for aviation in Africa. From Casablanca to all of Africa and beyond, travelers will be able to count on a reliable connection throughout their flight.”
