Tourism in numbers
Morocco welcomed 15.7 million tourists by the end of September 2026, up 5% compared to the same period in 2025, representing more than 717,000 additional arrivals, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
In a press release, the ministry specifies that this momentum strengthened in September, with more than 1.5 million tourists welcomed—an 8% increase compared to September 2025—noting that these results confirm the solidity of Moroccan tourism’s growth trajectory and the destination’s ability to maintain its momentum beyond peak travel periods.
Quoted in the text, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, emphasized that ” Moroccan tourism’s momentum is continuing and its long-term potential remains considerable. The 26 million tourist target by 2030 is closer than ever. The challenge now is to keep up this trajectory by generating more value, jobs and opportunities across all our regions.”
